GADDFAS Volunteer Representative and East Midlands Area Representative, Jill Speechley, is responsible for a number of projects within Grantham and District. Working closely within NADFAS regulations Training has been given.

Belvoir Castle Book Conservation. Beginning in 2003, under professional guidance, a group began work conserving, repairing and recording over 8000 books both in the small and large libraries. Still continuing in 2011 it is anticipated that the entire project will take over 8 years to complete.

Textiles at St Wulfram’s Church, Grantham. From 2003 a small group of experienced, talented, needlewomen has completed non-invasive work under the direction of Mary Sleigh the Lincoln Diocesan Church Textile Advisor. Funded by the Friends of St. Wulfram’s, altar cloths, frontals and copes and vestments have been sorted, repaired and their storage facilities improved. Further help has been deemed necessary and the group which reconvened in 2010 is expected to continue for some time.

Archives at St. Wulfram’s Church, Grantham. After supporting the  large project to set up a Heritage funded Information Centre in the North Porch, Volunteers have been involved in the conservation and the catalogue of church archives.

The Trigge Library, a chained library, was the first public library in the country and today is one of only three remaining chained libraries. Routine sorting, cleaning and non-invasive work has been carried out under expert direction.

Grantham House and the National Trust. Under new tenancy Volunteers are booked in to assist during openings times and for special occasions.
