DAY OF SPECIAL INTEREST MAY 2009
Following the previous season’s special day on Silver and Social Custom, Ian Pickford returned to explore Hallmarks and Identification of members items – a few surprises were in store.
                                     

ART IN ACTION: JULY 2009
Members of GADDFAS and HAKFAS joined the 22.000 visitors on this memorable and
stimulating day. An incredible number of artistic disciplines  were demonstrated by an
incredible number of talented young people. Their works were tantalisingly displayed and invited
purchase. We came away with every confidence in the future of art in its broadest sense.

SOCIAL EVENTS
Whilst GADDFAS lectures are held in the formal setting of the Guildhall Theatre informal events
enable members to interact socially. These include an Open Christmas Lecture sponsored by the
Melton Mowbray Building Society preceded by seasonal refreshments, an annual June Coffee
Morning and the Celebration Lunch to mark the NADFAS 40th Anniversary . The latter followed
a special lecture by Peter Medhurst on the paintings of Vermeer which include musical
instruments.
